The European Nuclear Education Network (ENEN) Association is organizing the “Workshop on Culture for Nuclear Safety and Journalism” under the auspices of the EUROSAFE Conference in Munich on 7 – 8 November 2016. The aim of this workshop is to provide a set of informational tools and practical drills for journalists to strength competences required for achieving excellence in Culture for Nuclear Safety at European level.
This activity is funded by the European project NUSHARE which implements a European Education, Training and Information initiative proposed by the Commissioner for Research and Innovation and the Commissioner for Energy after the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami on 11 March 2011 (Fukushima). The 9th International Congress on University Teaching and Innovation CIDUI will take place in the Hotel Campus of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona on 5-7 July 2016. This year’s theme is “Teaching and learning innovation impacts” and the congress will gather more than 500 professionals.
The European HEIRRI project (Higher Education Institutions and Responsible Research and Innovation) will be presented on 6th July during the Symposium “Innovative teaching for a responsible and critic education” . The session will be at Arnau de Vilanova room from 9:00 to 11:00am.
At the UPF Poblenou Campus there will be several free workshops from 10:00h until 14:00h were girls will learn how to programme with Scratch, applied robotics, AppInventor, Drawbots, 3D design, 3D printing, Makey-Makey electronic instruments, etc. Registration is needed to participate, and you will have to bring your own tablet or netbook.
Today September 16th takes places the first meeting of the European project HEIRRI (Higher Education Institutions & Responsible Research and Innovation). The project aims to integrate the concept of “Responsible Research and Innovation” (RRI) in university careers in science and technology, so that research and innovation meets societal needs, values and expectations. The European Commission promotes the practical application of RRI through six key areas: public engagement, ethics, science education, gender equality, open access and scientific governance.
The kick-off meeting will connect all participants and provide an extensive and comprehensive overview of the three years of the initiative. Throughout the meeting, located in the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB), the key concepts and the different phases of the project will be discussed.
On April 17th and 18th will take place in Barcelona 1st STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) International Conference under the theme Learning today to solve tomorrow!.
