The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is looking for a Press Officer to coordinate international media activities and raise the organisation’s profile with the press worldwide. As Press Officer you will work with a group of writers, designers, web producers and analysts in our Strategy and Communications team, promoting the work of EMBL at its six sites in Europe.

- Writing and editing content for a range of communication products including the CERN website, press releases, videos, animations, exhibition content, the CERN Courier magazine and the CERN Annual Report.
- Liaising with the CERN community and the particle-physics community around the world to gather material.
- Advising international contributors on the scientific accuracy, use of language and readability of content.
With support from the Rita Allen Foundation, the National Academy of Sciences is pleased to offer two awards of $37,500 each to support the formation and development of collaborative science communication researcher-practitioner partnerships. These awards are intended to facilitate the efforts of science communication researchers and practitioners to plan collaborative projects that pursue shared research interests aligned with the recently released consensus report, Communicating Science Effectively: A Research Agenda. Those receiving awards will present details about their collaborations at a special session of the Arthur M. Sackler Colloquium on the Science of Science Communication III to be held on November 16-17, 2017. Additional support for the Colloquium is provided by the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania and the Burroughs Wellcome Fund.

The HEIRRI project calls on higher education institutions from all continents interested in Responsible Research and Innovation and its integration into the curricula for a pilot test of two of the training programs and materials developed by the HEIRRI project.
The selected institutions will pilot the testing of the HEIRRI materials in parallel with the Consortium member institutions (between June 2017 and April 2018). They will actively participate in the learning process, giving feedback on the materials and their use in their institutions. (more…)
