The project Knowledge Incubation in Innovation and Creation for Science (KiiCS) wanted to explore the borders of science, creativity, technology and the business dimension. The objective was to find evidences of the positive impact from connecting different disciplines in new ways of collaboration and to foster young people’s participation in scientific activities.

 

Platform of Local Authorities and Communicators Engaged in Science (PLACES)

The aim of the Platform of Local Authorities and Communicators Engaged in Science (PLACES) project was to establish and develop the concept of “European Cities of Scientific Culture”. From UPF, a group of social scientists from 21 countries was led in order to analyze the social impact of science communication activities organized by science centres and museums, scientific events or local policies of scientific culture.

 

Monitoring Activities on Science In Society (MASIS)

The project Monitoring Activities on Science In Society (MASIS) defined the development and monitored the policies and research included in the field of “Science and Society” in the different European countries. Its objective was to increase the dissemination of these activities and their impact on society and politics.

 

Sensitive Technologies and European Public Ethics (STEPE)

The project Sensitive Technologies and European Public Ethics (STEPE) consisted on the design and interpretation of the results from Eurobarometer 2009 about Life Sciences and Associated Technologies. Gema Revuelta, its coordinator from UPF, was the only researcher from Spain.

 

e-KNOWNET

European Network of Scientific Communication Teachers (ENSCOT)

ENSCOT was a network of science communication teachers working together to exchange ideas on good practice in teaching, to develop teaching modules, to develop training workshops, and to serve as a nucleus for other science communication teachers throughout Europe.
