The 9th International Congress on University Teaching and Innovation CIDUI will take place in the Hotel Campus of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona on 5-7 July 2016. This year’s theme is “Teaching and learning innovation impacts” and the congress will gather more than 500 professionals.
The European HEIRRI project (Higher Education Institutions and Responsible Research and Innovation) will be presented on 6th July during the Symposium “Innovative teaching for a responsible and critic education” . The session will be at Arnau de Vilanova room from 9:00 to 11:00am.
During the 1st HEIRRI Conference Teaching RRI at University celebrated on March 18th, 2016, five short videos were elaborated. The first of them is a general video of the event, summarizing the intense day of debates and interactions. The four other videos are video-capsules about different aspects related to the integration of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) into Higher Education Institutions. They are about “Pedagogies and RRI in Higher Education Institutions”, “Students and RRI in Higher Education Institutions”, “Benefits and RRI in Higher Education Institutions”, and “Challenges and RRI in Higher Education Institutions”.
The 1st Conference of the European project HEIRRI (Higher Education Institutions and Responsible Research and Innovation), which will take place on March 18th at the science museum CosmoCaixa in Barcelona, is now open for inscriptions. The 1st HEIRRI Conference, with the title “Teaching Responsible Research and Innovation at University”, will bring together professionals working in Research and Innovation, including higher education institutions, research centres, institutions of formal and informal learning, public institutions, industry, and civil society organisations.
The HEIRRI project has launched its new blog to present the development of this Horizon2020 initiative which aims to integrate the concept of “Responsible Research and Innovation” (RRI) in the science and engineering degrees.
The blog features information about events and activities throughout HEIRRI, including news, press releases and relevant resources about Higher Education Institutions (HEI) and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). The new blog also links with social media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and, soon, Researchgate, and also offers a general view of current activities and ongoing projects related to RRI.
Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) will lead the European project HEIRRI: Higher Education Institutions & Responsible Research and Innovation, which aims to integrate the concept of “Responsible Research and Innovation”, or RRI, in the science and engineering degrees, mainly focusing in universities and other higher education institutions (HEI). The HEIRRI project starts on September 1st and will last three years, and has an approximate budget of one and a half million Euros.
The concept of “Responsible Research and Innovation”, or RRI, implies the alignment of R+D+i, in all its phases, with the needs, values and expectations of society. The European Commission is very actively fostering the knowledge and practical implementation of RRI, focusing its actions on 6 key axes: public engagement; science ethics; science education; gender equality; open access; and science governance.
