An online database that makes available to the public a selection of practical and inspiring learning more about Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) has been created as part of the Higher Education Institutions & Responsible Research and Innovation (HEIRRI). 23 exemplary cases are presented in this database, which is an indispensable resource for everyone who works at the forefront of RRI.
The final selection of 23 was made based on the HEIRRI State of the Art Review, which reviewed hundreds of different outcomes ranging from traditional academic papers to training materials, courses, expert interviews, EU projects and more. The review was designed to explore the different ways in which issues of responsibility in R&I can be taught and trained in higher educational institutions.

The project aims to integrate the concept of “Responsible Research and Innovation” (RRI) in university careers in science and technology, so that research and innovation meets societal needs, values and expectations. The European Commission promotes the practical application of RRI through six key areas: public engagement, ethics, science education, gender equality, open access and scientific governance.
The kick-off meeting will connect all participants and provide an extensive and comprehensive overview of the three years of the initiative. Throughout the meeting, located in the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB), the key concepts and the different phases of the project will be discussed.
