The newly opened NERRI project website is available and it will provide with all the information about neuroenhancement, RRI (for “responsible research and innovation”) and about the project itself. The Science Communication Observatory at Universitat Pompeu Fabra is one of the members.
NERRI, Neuroenhancement Responsible Research and Innovation, is a project that lasts 3 years (2013-15), funded by the European Commission in the 7th Framework Programme and is lead by Ciencia Viva, the main Portuguese network of scientific communication, and involves 18 organizations belonging to 10 different countries.
Neuroenhancement is a particularly delicate research area which goal is not just treating disease, but also getting to improve cognitive abilities of healthy people. In this context, the website of NERRI will be a source of useful information and resources for all those interested in this new field of research as much to the scientific aspects as to those associated to ethical or legislative questions.
