ericeOn May 8th to May 13th 2015, under the theme The Science of Light, in the village of Erice (Sicily, Italy) will take place the 6th International School of Science Journalism and Communication (ISSJC). Preliminary program.

The ISSJC had announced fellowships for participants based in European Countries (35) and fellowships for participants based in non-European Countries (5). Deadline is February 15th 2015.

Can apply to these fellowships science journalists, science communicators and students in science journalism and communication. Grans will cover:

  • School fee
  • Acommodation in Erice
  • Travel expenses to/from Erice: airfare, train and bus tickets (no taxi included) for participants from EU countries
  • Transfer from Palermo or Trapani airport to/from Erice (no taxi included) for participants based in non-European Countries

Candidates should send before February 15th an email to Rita Bertelli including a CV (max. 1 page) and a motivation letter (1 page max.) describing the plans for your professional future and why you think participating in the School would benefit your career. On March 5th ISSJC will inform the acceptance or the rejection to the applicants.

The course, that will be held at Ettore Majorana Foundation and Centre for Scientific Culture (EMFCSC), is based on lectures, working sessions and other activities held by international experts that will present the state-of-the-art of the main topic which is related to that 2015 has been declared by UNESCO as the “Year of the Light and light-based technologies”.
