The SCRIPT Award, launched in 2008, celebrates excellence in writing by science graduates. The challenge of the SCRIPT Award is to write a “mini epic” and the winning prize is $1000 (Canadian dollars). The SCRIPT Award 2017 is open to any writers who have, or are enrolled in, a postgraduate science degree or science-related postgraduate diploma or healthcare qualification as of May 1, 2017.
 
The mini-epic must be in English, can be on any topic (nonscientific topics are encouraged) and must be exactly 100 words in length, excluding the title. To confirm academic and/or healthcare qualifications of Entrants, SCRIPT may contact the awarding institution, medical association or similar. The final decision on eligibility will rest with SCRIPT, with no right of appeal. Full-time employees of SCRIPT or members of the immediate family of, or someone domiciled with, an employee of SCRIPT are not eligible to enter. Members of the Judging Panel, their immediate families, their immediate colleagues, their graduate students or someone domiciled with a member of the Judging Panel are not eligible to enter.

The submission entry period is extended until 1st May 2017. The winner of the competition will be announced in late Spring 2017.
