The European Science Events Association, Eusea, is looking for part-time project officers for two European SWAFS (Science with and for Society ) projects: NUCLEUS and PERFORM.
NUCLEUS is a four-year project that aims to develop a New Understanding of Communication, Learning and Engagement in Universities and Scientific Institutions and its goal is to overcome institutional barriers to responsible research and innovation (RRI).
Main task of the project officer will be the development and implementation of 20 ‘mobile nuclei’ which aim is to act as introductions and facilitating the implementation of RRI in 20 (mostly European) cities.
Requirements:
- University degree MA
- Native spoken level in English, other languages a plus
- Excellent knowledge of public engagement in science
- At least 3 years of experience in designing and practicing science communication.
- Experience in European science communication projects
- understanding of the concept of RRI
- Experience in and knowledge of event planning as well as production of events and of other forms of communication material, such as minor exhibits and leaflets
PERFORM project aims to investigate the effects of the use of innovative science education methods based on performing arts in fostering young peoples’ motivations and engagement with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in selected secondary schools in France, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Main task of the project officer will be designing and implementing the communication strategy for the final event, collaborating with UNESCO.
Requirements:
- University degree MA
- native spoken level in English, other languages a plus
- excellent knowledge of public engagement in science
- at least 3 years of experience in designing and practicing science communication.
- Experience in European science communication projects
- Very good social media skills
- Knowledge of CMS systems
- Experience of project management and delivery, including financial oversight of programme budgets
