Last Friday, November 16, Gema Revuelta participated in the European Day for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics. The day took place in the Ministry of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare (Pº del Prado 18-20, Madrid).

Every year since 2008, the European Day for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics is celebrated, an initiative promoted by the European Center for the Prevention and Control of Diseases (ECDC). Its objective is to raise awareness about the risks associated with the inappropriate use of antibiotics and to make a call to responsible consumption, both in human health and in animal health, to prevent the emergence and development of resistance to antimicrobials.

On the occasion of this celebration, the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS), coordinator of the PRAN, organizes this informative day that aims to raise awareness in society in general and in professionals of the importance of the prudent use of antibiotics and the seriousness of the problem of antimicrobial resistance.
