UCLThe  Université Catholique de Louvain · Institute for Language and Communication (IL&C) offers a Tenure track or tenured full time position – Information and communication to start on 1st of September, 2018.

Teaching
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching in the Master’s course in Journalism and the Bachelor’s course on Information and Communication. These lectures will be mainly on subjects close to his or her research field in journalism and on methods. The successful candidate should also be able to give more general lectures related to information and communication.

He or she should be able to work in a team, to motivate teams of researchers and lecturers (including visiting professors) and to develop innovative projects both in teaching methodology and research.

Research
The successful candidate will develop research based on the sociology of professions in journalism, the socio-economic approaches of journalism and the techniques of journalistic writing.

The field of expertise required covers these three areas as well as, more broadly, the questions of methods and the consideration of the historical dimension in the analysis of professional and social issues related to changes and developments in the area of journalism.

The successful candidate will work in the fields of journalism and information and communication on a broadly multidisciplinary basis at the Communication Research Hub (Pôle de recherche en communication, or PCOM). He or she should be able to collaborate with other research units and to maintain contact with the professional world of journalism and the media.
