The jury of the 31st Edition of the Boehringer Ingelheim Prize for Journalism in Medicine has chosen the winners of 2018 and Laura Chaparro has been awarded in the category of printed journalism. The award-winning report has been “Enfermedades reumáticas: las grandes olvidadas“, published in the magazine Estar Bien de Muy Interesante.
Laura Chaparro did the Master’s in Scientific, Medical and Environmental Communication in the 2010-2011 academic year and is currently the press chief of the Ministerio de Educación y Formación Profesional.
The other two awarded works were “El matemático que lucha contra el cáncer: así salvarán vidas los algoritmos”by Patricia Ruiz, published in El Confidencial, in the category of digital journalism, and “El reloj interno”, by Pere Estupinyà, issued in the program El Cazador de Cerebros de TVE, in audiovisual journalism.
