Jeroen van den Hoven

Jeroen van den Hoven , a renowned expert on Values and Technology and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), will be on November 4th in Barcelona giving the lecture “Responsible innovation: a new paradigm in H2020

The speaker will bring us his experience at the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research in implementing RRI at a practical level and will explain the importance of RRI  to align research and innovation with the needs, values and expectations of society and to overcome controversies related to new technologies.

Ignasi López Verdeguer, Director of the Department of Science at “la Caixa” Foundation will conduct the conference which is in the framework of CaixaImpulse program  funded by the ”la Caixa” Foundation and organised in collaboration with Caixa Capital Risc to encourage the start-up of new companies in the scientific sphere.

Jeroen Van den Hoven is full professor of Ethics and Technology at Delft University of Technology and editor in chief of Ethics and Information Technology. He has been awarded with the World Technology Award for Ethics in 2009 and the IFIP prize for ICT and Society. He is as well a professor of Ethics, chairman of the Values and Technology department and deputy dean at TPM and the director of research at the 3TU Centre for Ethics and Technology.
