logo_bscBarcelona Supercomputing Center-Centro Nacional de Supercomputacion (BSC-CNS) is  looking for a officer to work on the dissemination of European collaborative research projects in BSC for example the European project Eudat, and other communication-related activities

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Coordinate the work of multiple partners
  • Maintain close contact with Principle Investigators and identify results to be disseminated
  • Write, edit and correct documents (including project deliverables)
  • Contribute to dissemination materials (web, social media, newsletters, press releases)
  • Organise and participate in project events
  • Organise and chair meetings and teleconferences
  • Follow up partners’ activities and compile contributions
  • Identify suitable fora in which to disseminate the projects
  • Liaise with relevant representative from funding bodies and related projects
  • Represent the BSC and specific projects in meetings (including project reviews)

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including good editorial skills
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize and work under deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and to coordinate closely with a team
  • Outgoing personality
  • Ability to understand scientific messages and effectively transmit them to a variety of different audiences
  • Organized and able to simultaneously manage multiple projects

Education Profile and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (communication, journalism, science, English, marketing, advertising, public relations etc.)
  • Master’s degree in scientific communication or similar and specific courses a plus
  • At least 2 years’ experience in science communication, or management of research projects, or science degree holders with interest/experience in communication
  • English native or equivalent
  • Capacity to interact and build strong relations with a diverse members/stakeholder/staff base.
  • Creativity to devise novel, innovative communication tools (print/online)
  • Willing to travel (in Europe)
