.Department of Earth Sciences, a long-established Department within the University of Cambridge, is searching a Science Communication Officer, a full-time post connected with a project in evolutionary biology funded by the Templeton World Charity Foundation (TWCF)
Main duties:
To develop and enhance the public understanding of evolution, focussing on areas of future promise and work effectively as part of a team (working particularly closely with the Science Writer and PI)
Tasks:
The development of a website, recruiting leading experts to speak to topical issues, organizing events and educational outreach, and liaising with other members of the team and external consultants.
Skills and experience:
- High level of verbal and written communication skills
- To hold a degree in a relevant area of science
- Prior experience of science communication in any medium
- Experience in developing website content will be advantageous
