SciCom 2010 at Vienna

The international conference SciCom10 focuses on the players of risk communication in the tension field of their specific interests as well as on the communication of ethic sensitive research topics between dramatisation and appeasement. The conference will be held in Vienna from November 10th to 12th. It offers a forum to discuss up to date questions and exchange opinions on topics concerning science communications.

The conference was initiated by the Viennese agency for science communication Science2Public and realised in cooperation with the Institute of Communication and Higher Education at the Alpen-Adria-University Klagenfurt and Uni.PR – Association to promote public relations at Austrian Universities.

The main objective of SciCom10 is to bring together the leading experts for science communication in order to enable an interprofessional and transdisciplinary exchange. Within this three days the participants should find place to discuss the possibilities of presenting ethic sensitive research topics in the media, to reflect the various elements, interests and values that affect risk communication as well as to analyse the related linkage of conflicts and power in this challenging field.
