Egypt is home to 170,000 scientists and over 50 institutions involved in research, ranging from oceanography to metallurgy, and astronomy to climate change. The country is also home to the largest concentration of science, health and environmental journalists in the region.

With Egypt located at the meeting grounds between North and South, West and East, the World Conference of Science Journalists 2011 (WCSJ2011) promises to bring science journalists from the developing and developed world to share, learn, and form priceless binds with each other like never before.
