The goal of the N+MHD Workshop that will take place tomorrow Wednesday June 12th 2013, from 2pm to 6.30pm in Universitat Pompeu Fabra is to present to hackers some tools, which are specific to the Neuro call (e.g., Brain-Computer Interfaces, sensors, and APIs), which will be available during the hacking session.
The presenters of the Neuro+MHD workshop will be Javier Acedo and David Ibáñez (Starlab), Giovanni Maffei and Martin Inderbitzin (Synthetic, Perceptive, Emotive and Cognitive Systems), and Stephen Barrass.
The workshop aims at introducing specific technology to those hackers without a neuroscientific background, and allows both novel and expert users to have a hands-on experience before the event.
The workshop will be 4 hours long, with a 30′ coffee-break. The first part will offer some basic concepts on neuroscience, Brain-Computer Interfaces, and physiological sensors, including a presentation of different tools. The second part will be devoted to hands-on work with the above-mentioned tools, focusing on how they can be used in the music domain.
This initiative is lead by the Music Technology Group (MTG) in collaboration with the Science Communication Observatory at UPF through the KiiCs project, and it is supported by the research group Synthetic, Perceptive, Emotive and Cognitive Systems (SPECS), also from UPF, and by Starlab Barcelona SL.
